How to reset gnome panel?

My gnome always got this error:

Application "gnome-panel" (process xxxx) has crashed due to a fatal error.

I found a way to reset it on redhat web site they said to hold ctrl + shift after I sumited my password to the loggin panel but it does not work.

So, how to reset it by command line or wish files do I have to edit?

Thanks!
