How to re-join file after split?

Hi, all. I am fairly new to linux and the first linux I have adopted is Debian Sarge. As being a newbie, all lot of things on linux needs figuring out.

So, my first question is:
How do you re-join a file after splitting it?

Thanks for your help,
Wilson

Hi,

If you used split to split the files: Use cat to rejoin.

cat file1 file2 file3 > big.file or cat file* > big.file

Hope this helps.
