How to re-create Mysql password?

Hi

I am getting frustrated as I am unable to login the Mysql database Server.

I tried the login and password, still it was rejected. I tried using the module config to change the administrator and password. But it can't work too.

Any idea that I can re-create another password without knowing the old password?

Please help.

The MySQL documentation has the procedure to change the root password. It's pretty straight forward and should get you out of your jam.

Hi

Thanks a million!

I will try the method and see if I am out of the trouble.

Now I am encountering this new problem. When I do a shutdown, it will close all the processes and hangs there.

Can't do anything thereafter except to power off. It's happening twice already though I have re-installed RH8.0 again.

Any idea?
