here's what i get with the first line of trying to patch:
Code:
mykrob@infected-laptop ~/Downloads/alsa/alsa-driver-1.0.13 > patch -p1 < driver-wrapper.patch
patching file pci/hda/patch_conexant.c
patch unexpectedly ends in middle of line
patch: **** malformed patch at line 4:
i got the driver installed, i had to skip the driver-wrapper patch, but the conexant patch worked.. I got no errors on compiling and installing.
Not sure if its just perception or what, but volume seems louder. I am not able to record, though.. I have my Boss GT8 effects processor hooked into the mic port on the laptop, and capture volume turned up to max using alsamixer, but i cannot get an audible (or visible by meter) signal into the laptop. I have headphones hooked to the GT8 as well, and am most definitely getting sound..

What do i need to do to be able to record?
Join my Conexant Testers mailing list.
Email me your system information. I need to know the make and model of your system (i.e. HP DV2000T), and the output from "lspci -s 0:1b -vn" so I can add it to the driver. Also email me the output of "cat/proc/asound/card0/codec#0" (I only need this once to verify you have the same chip setup).
I will be sending out another test patch later today. I'm still gathering input from other testers, but have an idea on wat needs to be fixed. I won't be monitoring this thread nearly as much as my email from testers, and I won't be posting patches here, so email me. tdavis AT dsl-only.net.
