How to open DAT file


please I want program that open DAT file in Linux platform

This is a very generic file suffix. Can you be more precise? What is the output of the following command?

the DAT file is a Video file.
which program can open it?
Notice:
-I try some programs put all of these programs can't open it
-I use SUSE Linux 10

Any player that supports the format of the file should be able to open it. It however might have had some additional processing. The file command mentioned earlier should give what type of file it exactly is.
