how to manually create ~/.giFT /gift.config ??
So after spending the past few days attempting to complie and install giFT from source files including finding a gcc and g++ complier and all neccesary dependancies I am finally successful (well mostly) .
gift is installed and i successfully ran the setup (including entering a 1 instead of the defult zero in the first step). however the ~/.giFT/ file was never created in my home/localusr/ directory. shoudl I worry? if so, how do i fix this? This is my fist install from source files so a newbie type answer would be appriciated. I am running Mandrake 9.2, KDE 3.1, giFT 0.11.6 thanks |
Are you sure that the ~/.giFT directory wasn't created? Try executing the command 'ls -a' from a terminal. Files (and directories) whose names begin with a period are hidden and won't show up unless you specify to show all files.
Then the relevant file is giftd.conf (not gift.config) in the ~/.giFT directory. Enjoy! --- Cerbere |
cerbere- thanks for the reply. I did eventually fix this issue but then decided to start over and install the apollon all in one. Initially this went fine but now there are new problems. will search now for more solutions.
again thanks for the help |
