Question how to make initrd.img for your kernel without boot disk?

How do i make a initrd.img for my kernel without a bootdisk? I use debian and grub to boot...
btw i have read the man i read "man mkinitrd" and "mkinitrd --help" with a couple other online tutorals but i had a hard time understanding them as a newb at linux.

Heres the kernel i built in the "/boot/grub/menu.lst" dir.

as you can see it didnt add the initrd.img file but i have tryed configureing the "SCSI" device support in the kernel but im just to newb to get that to work right so i could get around the initrd.img. =P

Thanks in advance!

Generally you just need to run 'mkinitrd -o /path/to/initrd.img <version>' and it'll create the filesystem image for you. You can also edit /etc/mkinitrd/modules to manually specify any modules that should be included.
