how to install wine in slackware9.1

i already install wine -- use wine for slackware
but when i run wine in xterm
it's told me :
wine:/root/.wine is not a directory

what's can i do ?
i already copy a simple config file into /root/.wine

dont' run wine as root

wine can not run as root?
i just want to test wine

make a regualr user account
adduser <<USERNAME>>
follow rest, or hit enter to enter in defualt values

login to ur new user
then complie then install wine =)

The sample config file should be in the .wine dir, not at. It should be ~/.wine/config . '~' is the current user's homedir
