How to install the Perl 5.10. in RHEL 5.0 with Perl GD. i tried to install but it reply the following:

and I got the following output:

/usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lbind
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
I can't compile the test program.
(The supplied flags or libraries might be incorrect.)

You have a BIG problem. Shall I abort Configure [y] y
Ok. Stopping Configure.

What parameeters are can we give to install perl in RHEL 5.0.

Assume perl-5.10.0.tar.gz unpacked to /home/jpmaxyusuf/tmp/perl-5.10.0
and e.g. GD-2.41.tar.gz to /home/jpmaxyusuf/tmp/GD-2.41

'cd tmp/perl-5.10.0' .. './Configure -des -Dprefix=$HOME/localperl'
'make' .. 'make test' .. 'make install'

'cd ../GD-2.41' .. '/home/jpmaxyusuf/localperl/bin/perl Makefile.PL'
'make' .. 'make test' .. 'make install'

Then you will have perl 5.10 including GD in your /home .

I have no idea why perl would ask for libbind ( = -lbind )
( usually it will not )
If you want bind : # 'yum install bind-libs' ( if it isn't
already installed )
