How to install Spam Filter on Webserver

Hi, I'm administering a small hosted website for a company, and also using the hosting company's POP3 servers. The hosting service/features/price are excellent, but unfortunately they do not run any spam filters, and the company's main contact address (which they don't want to change) gets heavily spammed. I would like to set up a server side spam filter, but I don't have telnet/SSH access, only FTP. First of all, what is a very effective spam filter that requires minimal configuration and training? Second of all, how do I install it? The web host runs FreeBSD, supporting Perl and PHP as well as MySQL. I think their MTA is qmail, since I have a .qmail directory in my home directory. Any ideas? I have read reviews and overviews of several popular solutions already, but I'm interested as to what really works in the real world, as well as how to install the thing without shell access. Thanks for the help!
