Hi Guyz,

I have installed RHEL Version 5.4 in my Desktop. I was facing some error in Realtek RTL8111/8168B PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet Controller.

I had downloaded the driver. So kindly instruct me how to install it in the PC.

a few problems
1) RHEL 5.4 is old , VERY OLD
the current version in the older 5 series is RHEL 5.10
you are 6 versions out of date on a older LEGACY hardware operating system

2) second, RHEL is not free !!!
You have to buy the REQUIRED support contract from redhat
-- there are no "if's and's or but's" on that --

RHEL is normally not the best choice for running on a home desktop

i use a FREE rebuild of RHEL ( ScientificLinux 6.5 ) everyday
BUT -- and this is a BIG one!!!
it is NOT my "everyday " operating system . it is not a good choice for that

I use OpenSUSE 13.1 as my EVERYDAY operating system

the CURRENT RHEL ( Redhat Enterprise Linux) is 7.0
the REQUIRED yearly support contract is $299 per year
install RHEL 7.0 and buy the license

or

Install the FREE rebuild CentOS 7.0 ( or the current stable 6.5 )
