open a terminal

mkdir download

Try to copy the rpm using a grafical filemanager to download

then

cd download
rpm -ivh foo.rpm

I found it jdkaye, you know your linux well!
but now the question is , where is the icon on which I click and it starts playing my video/music files?

when i 2clik realplayer on desktop and after root pasw says this:some of the packages can not instal:realplayer-11.0.1.1056-20081001.i586(no request of lsb[>=3.1])
