how to install php5.2.6.tar.gz in red hat linux server 5.0


hello friend

i have folder php5.2.6.tar.gz. and i want to install it .i have tried to copy this folder in usr/local/src but i didn't due to permission.
so help me how can start php in my red hat linux server.it's urgent.
if u can mail me then send it on drp.rdp@gmail.com

Centos has a development rpm made up:

php-5.2.6-2.el5s2.x86_64.rpm
Even if you must compile it yourself(rare) you can pull their source rpm and look at the spec file to see what they needed to do to get it to compile.

And as @ lazlow says, it is a very good idea to rebuild
it or at least have a look into the file php.spec, also
to get the seventy ( 70 ! ) configure options right.
