How to install php 5.2.5 on redhat enterprise linux4?


I have a 5.2.0 version of php. I have dowloaded the source rpm for php (5.2.5 source rpm). But I m not able to upgrade it. Please can anyone tell me detail steps to do so. I am a beginner dont have much idea about linux.

Distribution: RHEL/CentOS/SL 5 i386 and x86_64 pata for IDE in use

Install the source rpm: rpm -ivh php<the rest>.rpm
Build the binaries, for example: rpmbuild -bb php.spec
Install the updated version of the packages: rpm -Fvh php*.rpm
(watch the screen output to know where the installable binary packages are)

I have downloaded the source rpm. but its still not upgrading. its asking me for dependancies. i have downloaded the dependancy rpms but even they are not getting installed.....

Then satisfy the dependencies the output from the rpmbuild command tells you what you need to install.
