How to install new wallpaper in KDE?

Basically I want to change the desktop background of KDE to pictures I got from the net. Where do I put these new pics so KDE will see them and what picture formats(*.tif,*.jpg etc) that KDE work with?

right click on the desktop, pick configure desktop, pick background, then you just browse to where you saved the pics and apply. Remember to tell it you want a single wallpaper and not common if you want it to be different for each desktop.

With redhat I just right click on the screen, choose configure desktop, and browse to the jpeg I want. Does Slack 9.0 not allow you to do that? I also found desktops to download from kde's webpage. They have this installer that places the pictures in a particular directory so you can access them without browsing.

Got it. Not as hard as I thought.

yeah, in KDE it is easy, gnome is a pita and doesn't seem to have as many features.
