Kevin - As Hendikins said, using the "su" command will give you the same privs as root. You'll be prompted to enter the root password, and then you should be able to perform the Netscape insallation. (Note that anytime you are logged in as root, the prompt will switch to a # instead of the the standard $) At the risk of telling you something you already know, you generally should always run as a typical user rather than root, since root always has all privileges, and can do anything without restriction. In other the words, it's very easy to damage your system by inadvertently executing the wrong command as root. Use root sparingly.
