Hi, im trying to install GCC 3.2.2 because i need a prog to compile things, but gcc says i need a compiler to build it, so were to i start to install GCC?
You are going to need to get the gcc binary package for your distribution. It is the chicken and the egg syndrom. GCC was built with GCC so you need GCC to compile GCC
hey friend what version of the os are u using.... it generally has a compiler builtin... there are some pre compiled versions about the gcc... but i don't know where to find themm... do try to find those pre compiled versions... rather than compiling from source...
Read the Linux from Scratch book.....
it tells exactly how to build a compiler to compile programs..........
and where to install it so your $HOST system won't get the "two different compilers" confused.
