Did you run "make" to compile? Were there any errors during any part of the configuration, build or installation processes? If so, what were they?

Use FVWM 2.6.1 for a start. Also, is "$HOME/bin" in your $PATH?

Which file? Which step? Please post complete details, including error messages if there are any. If you're sure that you compiled and installed FVWM, then is the directory containing the fvwm binary in your PATH, as ThomasAdam asks?

Should also have mentioned here that the above is wrong. The long option "--prefix" expects an equals sign, as in:

Code:
./configure --prefix=/home/myusername
