Hello
I am working in a worldwide leading Storage solutions provider.
I'am trying to install a Qlogic 2200F /66 on a RedHat 7.1 (kernel 2.4.2) server to connect a SAN attached storage changer.
The changer and the 2 drives are native SCSI devices and I use a SAN Gateway (Pathlight) to go from SCSI to fibre.
- My changer SAN GatewaySan Gateway takes Lun 0
- Changer takes lun 1
- the 2 Tape drives in my changer take lun 2 & 3.
The Gateway is well configured and all this SAN attached storage installation works 100% OK with my other Servers (Solaris, W2K , NT) using Emulex or JNI FC card
I need to know how to configure the Qlogic card ?
I took a look on the Qlogic website and downloaded instructions & drivers... And I saw that installation procedure are crazy for Linux (!). (3 diffrents ways, all difficult...)
I finally decided to install Redhat on an other disk and I saw that the RedHat load driver for the Qlogic card during the Os installation..
When boot on the OS, I check the system console and I can see my card. On my card, I can only see my SAN Gateway but not my drives or my robot.
What 's my problem ?
I activated the Qlogic BIOS (last version 1.76) and everything is well recognised on it (my 2 drives + my changer + my Gateway)
I do not know why I can not see them on my OS.
Shall I create entries for devices on any configuration file like we do on solaris ? how does it works ?
( I do not think so since I tried with SCSI using a Adaptec AHA 2944 card and everything was OK: Devices seen on BIOS, on the OS and available for tar).
Shall I activate any LUN support option on my Qlogic card to let all my devices recognized by the OS ?
what are the configuration files for a Qlogic 2200 on linux ? where are they on linux ?
I didn't found any manuals on your web to help on SanBlade 2200 configuration: could you please send me some docs about this ?
How does the devices configuration work on linux ?
Please help ASAP.
I'm working for now 2 days and this becomes more than critical.
Thanks in advance.
