Welcome to LQ.

If you installed "NOYS 0.8", you will see
"Welcome" > > "Licence" : Thank you for installing Fedora....

Try this : yum list installed > yum-list-20090801.txt
and : rpm -qa | sort > rpm-20090801.txt
which creates two text files in /home/"user" in different format's
showing all the installed 'fc10' packages.

So it is just Fedora 10 + some nice 'web developers applications',
including the 'NetBeans IDE 6.5'.

Installing packages, e.g. 'gcc-c++' :
Please open the terminal window and type 1) su , password
2) yum install gcc-c++
... which provides the c and c++ compiler.
... Or use the 'Package Manager' for the install :
(Menu), System, Administration, 'Add/Remove Software'.

It is possible to install packages, also when running NOYS 0.8
as live-cd. But it is gone, when you shut down.

Good luck !

Open the terminal window and ...
1) cd /etc/
2) su , password
3) gedit yum.conf
... and edit line 3 from : keepcache=0
to : keepcache=1
Save the file and all packages downloaded using
a) yum install <package> or b) using the package
manager, will be saved in :
/var/cache/yum/fedora/packages or
/var/cache/yum/updates/packages ... or
/var/cache/yum/<other-repo-name>/packages
... and can be copied to anywhere.
