Doubtful that you can. Fedora 8 is VERY old, and hasn't been supported or updated in years. You need to update to something current, if you want to use current software. Either that, or you need to download the source for everything you're trying to install, modify it, and compile it to work under FC8.

Unless you set up a local repository, Yum depends on the internet. If you're connected to the net, you can find a list of FC repositories to use, and set them up. Otherwise, the dependencies you mention will never be found, since they're not on the DVD, given its age.
Connect to the internet, or load a current version of Fedora.
