When importing qfx/ofx files in GnuCash, i get very few matches to existing categories. In the preferences/online section, i have bayesian matching set on. match display threshold is 0, auto-add threshold is 1, auto clear is 6.
1. oddly, i can't seem to change these values. when i close the prefs window and reopen, i'm back to the above numbers.
2. which values would give me the most matches (even if wrong?). i can't seem to follow the docs on what match display and auto add DO, exactly. seems like low values of both should give me the most hits.
no, nothing anywhere. i think i'm the only one who uses this program. have tried to find a suitable replacement that will keep my 6 years of data, but no use. kmymoney is ok, but the lack of good keyboard shortcuts are a dealbreaker.
Is it possible to save gnucash account data to transfer to another desktop/laptop, or to backup and use when updating gnucash to a newer version.
yeah, this one's easy. file-->save as...
default is to store your file with a .xac extension. i don't remember the default location, but you can save the file to where ever you want. it keeps all your info in it.
ended up giving kmymoney another shot--it's growing on me a bit. the transaction matcher works much better, which saves me a LOT of time. strange though, because earlier gnucash versions seemed to match well. but i've now had problems for >1yr.
