how to format a floppy(msdos) in mandrake?
Hi....
Since mandrake is user friendly and it also has a supermount facility so that a user dosent need to manually mount and unmount a floppy or cd...is there a facility in mandrake that will allow me to format a floppy in dos format ?? I know all the commands for formatting a floppy in linux frm the console, but from a newbie's perspective I'd like to know if there is a GUI - TOOL that lets one format floppy in ms-dos format... Pls note that i am looking for a GUI solution to the above...if mandrake doesnt have any such utility, then is there any open source app that will let me do the same? Regards, --amit |
Well, I found the tool right there in KDE....I'm really happy with Mandrake 10.0 Official.....I just need 1 application to throw windows forever....anyways...here's the solution..
Main Menu - > System -> Configuration -> Hardware -> Floppy Formatter (Kfloppy) Kfloppy has an option of MS-DOS as well as ext2...so i got what I wanted... --amit |
