If you do
apt-cache showpkg xserver-xorg
(note the typo in your post, it is not x-server-xorg)
you should see that the .deb name is different.

If you check for this package, you should see that it is still there. Unless Ubuntu is very different from debian. Apt does not remove the .deb packages. But even if it did, why would you worry about it?
