How to enable MP3 audio stream playback on CentOS 6.x (x86_64) and remain sane

A) click on this link
B) install this file or click on the appropriate link to enable rpmforge repository
C) download this file and install it or execute this command [ rpm --import http://apt.sw.be/RPM-GPG-KEY.dag.txt ]
D) find a MP3 stream on the net and click on the link. Here is one for your convenience.
E) TOTEM media player will automagically start. Then, it will tell you that it can not play MP3 stream because of the missing appropriate plug-in. It will ask you if you want to search for the plug-in.
F) confirm SEARCH
G) install the missing plug-in following the instructions from the screen

This is a terrible set of instructions. The links are labeled "links". So if you click it, you have no idea if what you are clicking on is what you should be clicking on.

It is sort of like Alice and the bottle saying "Drink me" and we know where that led.

So use at your own risk.

You're not using a browser that lets you see where the links go to without opening them? In Chrome I just hover the mouse over them and look at the status bar.
