I am new to this Linux and this forum. I would like to download the latest version of Suse and dual boot with window xp on my home computer. My problem is that each time i try to download the image i am asked for usrname and password. I have looked everywhere and i can't find where to get the login credentials. I'm currently using IE and download accelerator on windows xp. Please advice
easiest just to pick a different mirror.... try one from our iso site. there certainly shouldn't be a password on them as a rule of thumb. http://iso.linuxquestions.org/
I have tried nearly all the mirrors on the http://iso.linuxquestions.org site for Live DVD ISO image and all are requesting a user name and password. Is it my settings or is there a conspiracy . . . ..
Thank you for your help but the problem still persist. The link you posted give this error message when i choses save target as

I've started losing the few hairs still left on my skull...........
Hey maybe you should try this link : http://fr2.rpmfind.net/linux/SuSE-Linux/ ....I downloaded the DVD ISO successfully...maybe you should try it if you're not able to download....
I hope the downlaod goes well. I have problems in Windows downloading DVD iso's. Anything over 2Gb and windows seems to fail. Either by ftp or http. Eventually I grabbed it using the trusty wget command :-)
Yeah you're right...on Windows sometimes the connection with the ftp server fails, so maybe if your download fails craig_jones....use a ftp downloader, something like cute ftp or wget command like woppa30 said, I've been able to grab the DVD iso with cuteftp...
