How to do remote access to a Linux machine using Windows XP
Hi, guys. I have my linux machine at home and I would like to have access to it from work. Is it possible to have remote access to linux from a WinXP machine? The purpose of this is that I want to be able to practice linux at work for I'm planning to the the LPI certification. I was trying to use free shell accounts from work, but I don't have access from here, it appears to be blocked or something. I did google for it but I did not see much. What do you suggest??

you can use vnc or freenx for good remote control if you want. there's also the standard xdmcp but i wouldn't recommend that at all for what you want.

You can always use commonly unblocked ports such as 80 or 433.
If nothing else works, you might try good old-fashioned ssh. |
Those ports don't let me go online. Is there another way? I'm trying to telnet sdf.lonestar.org and some other free shell online with no success. I guess I should try VNC or freeNX.
