Hi,

I have troubles with a corrupted RPM that i try to delete.

I can't uninstall it, i can't install it again, i can't update. It there and doesn't want to go out!.

If i want to uninstall it:
[root@linuxpel root]# rpm -e wine
error reading information on service wine: No such file or directory
error: %preun(wine-20040813-1rh9winehq) scriptlet failed, exit status 1

If i want to install it:
[root@linuxpel Programas]# rpm -i wine-20040813-1rh9winehq.i686.rpm
package wine-20040813-1rh9winehq is already installed

What can i do?

Try installing again with
Code:
 rpm -ivh --force wine-20040813-1rh9winehq.i686.rpm
or
Code:
 rpm -ivh --replacepkgs wine-20040813-1rh9winehq.i686.rpm
Once it's installed properly, you should be able to uninstall

Also might be a good idea to download the rpm again - maybe it was corrupted

try just updating the rpm database.

i'm thinking something like:

rpm -e --justdb wine

might work for you as, if i'm reading the manpage correctly, it will just delete the package from the database only.

seemed to work for me while testing on faac.

i could still call up the faac program but rpm -qa | grep faac showed no output (no packages found with faac in the package name).
