Hello,

I was wondering if it is possible to convert a video file to quicktime & windows media format using shell. If so which software should I look for.

Thanks

Hi,

There must be a way to convert video files to .mov (I'm not so sure about .wmv), but I'm not sure what program you would need! What type of files are you trying to convert?

I did a quick Google and came up with this. One of the links pointed to linux-merge-avi which according to Google's summary says:
Quote:
Converts video files from AVI, MPEG, WMV, ASF, MOV, QT to AVI, MPEG, ...
Don't know what it is though because the site is blocked by the network admins...

I also tried searching for some at Sourceforge and at Freshmeat but with no luck....

Maybe someone else knows of one!
