How to compile gtk-devel to install

This problem is caused by compiling Mplayer.

I am using suse10 .And I want to compile Mplayer to install Mplayer in my computer.
After I have gcc-3.4.5 compiled and installed.
I type ./configure.Then I was told "Requie GTK (gtk-devel).

what should I do now?

Thank you very much for you help.

The easiest solution is to get an RPM from Packman website: MPlayer @ packman.Linux2Linux.de

I am facing the same problem regarding gtk-devel but with other applications. I will let you know if I ever find a solution.

Well, you could install the gtk-devel package for SuSe. I don't know if they make the sources available or not.

You could try building GTK+ from the official, stock sources found at the GTK+ website, but I can't predict how they will work with the rest of your system.

I would get the gtk-devel package(s) for SuSe (however that is done) and then proceed with your Mplayer build.

Peace...

Thank you for you advice tomadkat.

I think you are right. The whole afternoon,I have searched for gtk-devel RPM packets.

Unfortunately, I didn't found one.

Could you please recommen me a web site to search RPM packets?

Thanks again.
