how to change screen size in ubuntu.
 
my display on my laptop is 1024x800 but my display manager is only giving me the option for a 800x600 and this is probobly a simple fix but i don't know how to do it

Does System>Preferences>Screen Resolution not give you a higher option? If not, you can manually edit /etc/X11/xorg.conf and change the resolution.
