How to change from wine version 1.1.33 to 1.1.30 ?

I'm currently running Wine version 1.1.33 and have a few windows applications installed. Due to regression I think it is causing one of them to crash. In the appDB on WineHQ it shows it working perfect with version 1.1.30. It's a game with about 12GB of data. I know where the directory of the files are so I can back that up but whats the best way to install a different version?

You don't have to do anything, just install the newer version of Wine and it will use the same settings and virtual "C:\" drive as the older version.

You need to uninstall the existing version (first back up any config files you might have edited) and then install the 1.1.30 version. Here's the link.

First, make sure that it's really the case. Perhaps, version 1.1.33 is fine, you just need to tweak it slightly.

Yeah I'm not really sure if It is but it seems when some type of graphic rendering occurs it crashes, I'm trying to figure out which though.

Version 1.1.30 lists all graphic settings as working though so hmm..

I have changed any config files but when installing the older version will that delete my /.wine directory?

As in, do I need to reinstall the games after uninstalling wine/reinstalling wine or can I just leave them / copy game files over?

your .wine folder in your home directory won't be affected, usually (always?) you won't have to do anything. Whenever I switch wine versions I do "make uninstall" first. And then with the new version I use their "/tools/wineinstall" script. Seems to work. Not positive I did it right. But yeah you don't have to install any games again.
