How to change file association type for gnome programs on Kubuntu

Hallo:

I'm using Kubuntu 8.04. And some programs are for gnome (ex: evolution). How can I change the file type association?
When I use evolution, I want associate some extensions to programs, but I don't not know how.

Open a file browser. Left click on a file that you want to change the association. Select "Open With" then select "Other". You will be able to select the program to open the file. Check the box that says "Remember application association for this type of file".

Thanks for the answer.

I can change it easily for kde programs (just from system preferences or right click the file and change the file association), but not to know how to do if form programs of gnome when I use kde.

Ex:
If I open a .zip file with konqueror, ark program is open. And I can change file association easily.
But if a receive a .zip file with Evolution, only "Save" and "Open in wine" is allowed.

Install and run Nautilus (Gnome's File explorer) in KDE. Open properties on the object type you want to reassign to a different application and on the 'Open-With' tab choose your preferred app. Seems to Work on KDE 4.6 on Maverick
