How to burn MacOS .dmg file on a Linux system

One of our clients have a dept of graphic designers all on Macs. I was able to rip MacOS 10.5 as a .dmg file a while back before the original disc got lost. Now it resides on our Linux box (Fedora 9)
How to I burn this image onto a DVD so its useable again?

I've read similar post/threads on other sites that advise to convert to .iso format but I've also read the resulting .iso file is substantially larger. MacOS 10.5 is 6.7Gb already as a .dmg file.

Any insight?

if i'm not mistaken dmg is just a raw disk image and there are few if any real differences between it and an iso

try mounting the image (mount -o loop disk.dmg /mnt/cdrom) if it mounts successfully then you should be able to just burn it using cdrecord like any other iso

dd if=/path/to/dmg of=/dev/path/to/cd

Will do it for you. the outfile value (of) needs to be the actual dev reference to the file, not the mount point (/dev/hdd as opposed to /mnt/dvd)

umm.. that works for hard drives, but as far as i know, cd burners are different
an iso contains the raw data, but not other critical information necessary for a cd to work, such as lead-in, lead-out, pregap, etc...
if it were that easy, nobody would waste their time with programs like cdrecord etc..
