How to alter brightness, resolution parameters in Redhat Linux 9.0 with Gnome desktop

Hi,

I am a new Linux user, redhat 9.0 and have been trying to figure out a few things with Gnome:

1. How to change the brightness and contrast features of the screen display?
2. The font of the toolbar and other menus of any window in Gnome is different from the font of the webpage or content displayed in the window. How can I change the font of the menus and toolbars and how can I set them so they are not reset automatically?

Thanks very much.

brightness and contrast would be on your monitor. You can change the gamma to make X brighter

xgamma -gamma n

1 is default, try 2 or 3

You can most likely change your fonts in your gnome control-center from your "foot" menu... or by right clicking on the panel and selecting to enter its properties. ;)

And it should stick, if not, I'd ask for your money back.. :D
