you probably mean that you have this standard , grey looking look on most apps don't you ?
well that's gtk too, with the standard theme ...
in gnome you can switch gtk themes using theme browser ...
in fluxbox you'll have to get this programme called 'gtkthemeswitch' (or gtk-theme-switch) to do that for you
also, it could be that you have to install some gtk (2) engines .. like smooth, industrial etc , which 'tell' gtk how to .. err .. create a certain look i suppose (correct me because what i said here probably isn't correct
)
eg. if you use debian .. you could do apt-cache search gtk-engines or gtk-2engines for this
when you've got gtk-theme-switch installed , just start it in term using the command 'switch' (for gtk1.2) or 'switch2' (for gtk2) be sure to do this as a user , otherwise only the apps launched as root will look the way you chose ...
i hope this post isn't too confusing ... (because i can't formulate what i'm trying to say
)
greets ..
