How hard to get MySQL data served from a separate physical drive?
I ran some sysstat diagnostics on one of my servers and it would seem that the disk drive is getting a real workout. I plan to add more RAM to alleviate the memory paging/swapping that's going on, but am hoping to prepare for future growth. I'd like to try and put the MySQL data onto a separate physical disk drive so that Linux, Apache, and PHP can all use one drive and MySQL data will be retrieved from another. How hard is it to configure MySQL to use a different drive for its data?
