Hi,

I really appreciate your links, and I am grateful you put the effort in helping me. They certainly gave me a better concept of how the boot process works. I was wondering if you had anything more specific. I am building a system from scratch. I am using some guidence from the linux from scratch project, but also building knowledge and moving off course. I am creating several builds, and generally trying to fine tune the process. My main problem has been understanding the sysv bootscripts. I understand how to write the scripts, but not how to link them in the various runlevels. Do you know of any really in depth papers, and possibly some other approaches besides the bsd bootscripts. Anyone describing the faults of sysv. Generally the really down and dirty aspects of the boot process.

thanks
