How Do You Use generate-modprobe.conf?

How do you use generate-modprobe.conf? All I get is:
Code:
SuSEBurken:~ # generate-modprobe.conf
Cannot find old version of modprobe. Giving up.
I have to use this old /etc/modules.conf file.

This means that the script cannot find modprobe. Do you have installed the new module-init-tools? If yes make sure that it's in your $PATH.
