How do you install modules for your sound card into kernel

I have a AC 97 sound device on a laptop:

Previous posts have all of my info.

Thanks,

Well, I have an AC97-compliant sound card (which is pretty vague - I think AC97 is just a codec, and doesn't tell you anything about what driver is needed) and it happens to work with the intel8x0 sound card module in ALSA. Check out this list and see if your card is listed. It's ALSA-specific, so I don't know if it applies to non-ALSA drivers.
