Question How do you do startup disk for linux?


I did one startup disk(floppy) for linux user this command:
mkbootdisk --device /dev/fd0 2.6.9-5.ELsmp

when i execute it command ,it show these error info:

cp:writing /tmp/mkbootdisk:JH0616/initrd.img not free space in device
writed 20+0 block

Is my command error? how can i do create an startup floppy for linux?thax

Well, how big is the kernel your trying to use and I'm presuming your using the standard 1.44mb Floppy? Does your kernel exceed that size? If so, you need to make a smaller kernel..

yes,i use 1.44MB floppy. how can i make a smaller kernel? i am a new person, just study to linux.
