How do you burn mp3's onto a cd?

As mp3's or as to make a normal CD?

You could use a program like k3b, which can do this for you.

I want to burn them in the regular audio cd format.

Well they have to be converted first from mp3 too wav's. k3b Does this for you on the fly. I'd recommend you download it. If you wish to do this your self the hard way. You'll need something like lamer, cdrecord, cdrdao and maybe cdread. Then read up the on the documentation. K3b uses these, but does provide a nice easy way to do it. Think Nero for Linux only better.
