How do I xemacs bold?

Hi;

This is a question born of hours of frustration, experimentation and reading xemacs info manuals and googleing.

When I am in a text mode in XEmacs how do I add an attribute (bold, italic, colour) to a title or a block of text within a page of text. I don't need to know how to change the face; just the simple act of bolding a selection of text. It should be real simple but damned if I can figure it out.

Regards Bill

Emacs isn't a WYSIWYG editor, so you can't add formatting. It just saves plain text files. You need to use something like koffice, openoffice or something else depending on what you are trying to achieve.

Yea, I should know. I guess I was just hoping that in text-mode I could prettify my notes to myself.
