How do i take a screen shot with Gimp2?


Ok so i'm new to gimp and i'm a photoshoper and i was wondering how to take a screen shot with gimp? thanks

Take a screenshot and upload the file with the gimp... is that what you mean? When you take a screenshot it saves it in your home directory as Screenshot.png.

I'm glad I read this thread, too. I didn't know you could take a screenshot with The GIMP either. It turned out to be just as simple as selecting the appropriate menu item!

well were not taking a screen shot with gimp... all you have to do is press prntscrn and paste it in the root folder (home folder) and you type in a name for your picture and itll be there...

Well you said "take a screenshot with gimp" in your first message, so I just took it that way...

Besides, pressing the PrintScreen key doesn't do anything for me. At least not with KDE.
