How do I stop rhythmbox from starting when i connect a digital device?
I run gnome, and every time I connect my Creative Zen Mozaic mp3 player, Rhythmbox starts up (which is useless for this purpose). How do I stop it from starting when I connect my device?
I'm also trying to stop compiz from loading when I start up also, it doesn't start until after I login, when gnome is starting up, and I've searched all over for help on this.
I've searched /etc/xdg/autostart, and also a few other places I can't remember. I normally do metacity --replace when i start up, but i hate doing that every time and i do NOT want to remove compiz entirely.
However, the first question is the more pressing one ^_^ thank you ^_^
Distribution: Switched to regualr Ubuntu, because I don't like KDE4, at all. Looks like vista on crack.....

Open Nautilus, go to Edit>Preferences>Media, and you can tell it what to do. It's Nautilus that is opening rhythumbox, you can tell it exactly how you want to handle different types of media.
As for compiz, install fusion icon. You can choose which window manager you want to use, with a right click.
ok...
I want metacity to be default window manager without having to do anything on a regular basic, now i think that fusion icon needs to be changed manually once inside the desktop. in the config editor, i found
desktop=>gnome=>applications=>window_manager=>{current,default} and both set to /usr/bin/compiz, however, it says that these are deprecated since gnome 2.12, yet i found no other option where compiz was set? Where is the default WM set now in gnome 2.2?
so I openned nautilus, there was no media option under preferences, so i went to System Tools->Configuration Editor, searched rhythmbox and found two locations, one under media, and one under ipodlaunch something. i changed the media one, reconnected device nothing popped up. changed ipod one, reconnected device, worked like a charm.
