how do i play songs from my ipod. i am able to to moount it as storage device . i belivve rythm box ie music player should do this but i dont know how

How do you mount it? You should run: # mount -t vfat /dev/sdx (ipod mount point) /mnt/ipod (create ipod dir first). Then open ipod dir and you should see the files. A lot of players could play these.
