How do I make mplayer play realaudio links in mozilla?


How do I do it? I know it can be done.

yes it can, but you have to download and intsall the linux realone player from
www.realone.com
then recompile and reinstall mplayer
then it should work for you

Please explain

Please be more specific. What do you mean by "install Realplayer"? simply install it? should I also create the helper applications entries for realaudio file extensions in mozilla? Should I also copy the files raclass.zip and rpnp.so from the netscape plugins directory to the mozilla plugins directory? I did all this already before installing mplayer but couldn't get realplayer to work, do you think I should try it anyway?

did you download the software from www.realone.com and install it? if so, you should downoad the mplayer source (google for mplayer) compile and install it

Also check into some of the other threads in the forum on this topic.
Run a search as this comes up every other day.

NB if mplayer is working
www.mplayerhq.hu
then you can "open a url" as an option too - try that until you get the browser plugin working.
