How Do I Install XP Over Ubuntu To Dual Boot?

I already have ubuntu installed and want to install XP to dual-boot my system. I have some questions about this, please:

1) How can I do this?

2) After installing XP for a dual boot, is it possible to later on in the future to uninstall ubuntu?

3) Is it possible to make an o/s boot up by default then later on in the future, switch to the other o/s?

.

1. If you already have free (i.e. unpartitioned) space on your disk, then make a partition for XP and install it on that. Otherwise, you'll have to shrink existing partitions to make space. Windows will overwrite your MBR and thus get rid of GRUB, so you'll want to restore it after installing Windows.

2. Yes, all you need to do is get rid of the Linux partition(s) and then reinstall Windows' bootloader.

3. Yes, you can edit the GRUB config file to do this.

If you dont have some unpartitioned space , then you can use Gparted software to free some space and make it as XP partition.

Remember , you should also have an Ubuntu ( your existing Linux OS ) boot disc inorder to restore yout mbr for linux.
Once you have restore the grub then add windows partion to the Grub ( eg: /dev/sda1 ). You make anyone of them as a Default.

I have 3 OS in my machines .. see my Signature.

Thanks
