I got a Lexmark x5250 printer and I need to install it in my ubuntu 7.10. I went to linuxprinting.org but I couldn't find a driver for my printer. Any ideas on what I should do?
If I can't install it on my ubuntu, then is it possible to install a windows driver version on my XP guest?

There are no available drivers for your printer and it is not possible to use XP drivers in Linux. This is a classic situation many users face with Lexmark "Windows-printers", AKA Paperweight. Lexmark is on my list of "never buying it again", together with few others
I am afraid you will need a new printer or keep XP around for printing.

maga man x, what printers do you recommend that i buy that are compatible with ubuntu? mind you, i'm looking to get a mutlifunction printer, that is, a printer + scanner + copier. what do you recommend?
Hi again taurusx5. I am not sure which printer to recommend you. Definitely not my area of expertise. What I could suggest you is to take a look at the openprinting forums:
