how do I install 32-bit compiler libraries onto a 64-bit machine?

Hi. I've been trying to install the 32-bit compiler compatibility libraries onto a 64-bit machine running RedHat Enterprise Linux 4 WS.
I've installed every one I can find, but 32-bit support still isn't working. The compiler can't find this file: /usr/lib/crt1.o.

Does anyone know exactly which package I need to load to get this 32-bit support working?

Thank you very much.

crt1.o is provided by glibc, IIRC.
